The Duckett Creek Sanitary District maintains the sewer system for O'Fallon and the surrounding communities. Using Membrane BioReactor technology, Ducket Creek Sanitary District treats an average of 350 gallons of wastewater a day. The board of directors is dedicated to supporting economic development and protecting the environment.
The Public Works Commission is located in the City of O'Fallon Municipal Center along with several other city commissions and departments. Public Works manages the city streets, water, sewer, storm water, environmental services, project management and snow removal. The commission consists of 10 members appointed by the mayor with consent of the city council and non-voting members including city council members, the city engineer, senior project manager and the managing director of water, sewer and storm water.

The O'Fallon Fire Protection District, located just down the street from City Hall at 119 East Elm Street, has been serving the community since 1906 and became an official district in 1970. The district has 51 paid fire fighters on staff and 42 volunteers who provide fire protection services and emergency response throughout the city. The department engages in the community by offering demonstrations to day care centers and local scout groups and by helping with fundraisers for local organizations such as the Kiwanis Club. They also offer residents assistance with installing smoke detectors, proper infant seat installation and provide a list of fire safety tips on their website.
The O'Fallon Police Department is located at the east entrance of the O'Fallon Municipal Centre in the same building as City Hall. The department is comprised of 103 officers who serve the community through several divisions of law enforcement including detective, traffic and Cyber crime units, patrol, animal control and a K-9 unit. The department also provides a CERT program and assists local businesses through a Business Watch program. O'Fallon officers serve as school resource officers for area schools and participate in several programs for the city's youth, including D.A.R.E and Explorers.
The City of O'Fallon’s Department of Water maintains the sewer and stormwater operations for the municipality of O'Fallon. It maintains the water supply, the water treatment plant and all the other local water distribution systems. The state-of-the-art treatment center handles 6 million gallons of water each day.
O'Fallon Municipal Centre, also known as City Hall, is the central building of the local government in O'Fallon. The 10-member City Council meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 7:30pm; meetings are open to the general public. It also houses the Municipal Court, which is held three or four times a month and adjudicates ordinance violations filed by the Police Department.
