The Army National Guard center located on Market Street is the Warren armory branch of the National Guard. It is the location of the 169th Military Police Company, and soldiers in the unit are trained Military Police Officers.
The 169th Military Police Company was founded in 1755 and is the oldest active unit of the Rhode Island National Guard.
The Public Works Department is located on Birch Swamp Road and is the location of the town transfer station and public service gasoline for town vehicles.
At the transfer station, residents can deposit recyclable items such as clothing, appliances, yard waste, and automotive waste. Fees associated with dumping can be obtained at the department website.
The department handles all of the town vehicles, including dump trucks, loaders, lawn machinery, and snow plows.
Meeting at the URI Bay Campus, the members of the Atomic Energy Commission discuss the role of atomic power in the state, and also the regulation of the research reactor on the campus. The commission meets at irregular intervals during the year. Future meetings are posted on the Secretary of State's Web site.
Narragansett Affordable Housing Corporation is a housing authority based in Narragansett. It offers house subsidizing and affordable housing services, including supporting, developing, owning and leasing affordable housing for families and individuals. Although it is situated on Westmoreland Street in Narragansett, this Wastewater Treatment Plant processes waste from South Kingstown and the University of Rhode Island. The building is closed to the general public.
The Town Hall is located in the heart of downtown Warren on Main Street and is in operation Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. On the first floor of the town hall are the offices of the town manager, town clerk and treasurer/tax collector. Offices of the tax assessor, town planner, social services, municipal court, zoning and planning, and building inspection are located on the second floor of the building. The harbormaster office is located behind the town all. All meetings are held on the second floor of the town hall in the council chambers.
