This non-profit organization of 100 of the Presidents and CEOs of the region's largest mid-cap companies was created for and committed to increasing their involvement and investment in the St. Louis community. Since 2001, they have raised more than $50 million for the United Way and partner with many local non-profits to help them reach their goals, including AIM high, Teach for America-St. Louis, College Bound and Ready Readers.
Affton Elks Lodge #2635 is a local branch of the Elks. It works closely with the community through special programs, sponsorships, fundraisers, special events and more. The lodge offers numerous events and activities, including bingo games, holiday celebrations and special dinners. The facility is available to rent for special events, including dinners, celebrations and more.
This legion post is located just off Olive Blvd., behind Bristols Seafood restaurant. It holds its monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. American Legion Posts are a place for veterans to gather and support each other while helping and contributing to the local community. Not only do they support older veterans, but also active duty servicemen and their families. These ladies and gentlemen also help sponsor and support the American Legion baseball teams of the St Louis area. Bellerive Country Club is home to one of the nation's finest golf courses, tested over the years by some of the best to ever play on the pro tour. Bellerive has played host to the 1965 U.S. Open, the 1992 PGA Championship and the 2004 U.S. Senior Open. The club dates back to the late 1800s and has been at the Ladue Road location since 1960.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3500 serves as a gathering place for more than 200 members, according to its blog. The post also features a ladies auxiliary.
The post's hall is available for rental and includes a bar, an area for outdoor seating and a memorial marker, among other features. It adjoins a spacious parking lot.
The hall hosts event such as meat shoots, bingo and a weekly karaoke night.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of The Elks Lodge #9 is located in Creve Coeur on Ladue Road. This local branch of the national fraternal non-profit supports US veterans and is active in the community, offering club activities and scholarship programs for children. The lounge is for members only but membership is open, with an initiation fee and annual dues. The Elks Lodge has a pool on-site, and Elk facilities are available for rent.
