The Great Salt Lake Council of The Boy Scouts of America is an educational program for boys and young adults to build character and develop personal fitness. Located in Salt Lake City, the organization s Venturing program provides high-adventure activities and sports programs for young men and young women between the ages of 14 and 20. Its Varsity Scouting program offers adventure and personal development services for youths between the ages of 14 and 17. The parent organization provides year-round family- and home-centered programs that encourage the decision-making skills in boys between the ages of 7 and 17. The Boy Scouts of America s Tiger Cubs program emphasizes leadership, learning about the community and family understanding. The organization s Cub Scouts program offers several activities that emphasize character development and citizenship training programs. Incorporated in 1910, its scout camps are inspected and accredited annually by teams of trained volunteers to ensure the health, safety and quality of program for campers.
