Oakland Family Services, established in 1921, is a nonprofit human services agency offering support programs to families and children throughout the southeastern Michigan. It offers counseling services for child and adolescent behavioral problems, sexual abuse, learning problems and emotional trauma. The services offered by the agency include psychiatric evaluation and medical assessment; early intervention counseling for depression, grief and loss; crisis intervention; and case management. It also operates childcare facilities that offer adoption assistance and educational programs to children. The additional services offered by the center include foster care, vocational training, employment assistance and mental health treatment. Oakland Family Services is headquartered in Pontiac, and has offices located in Berkley, Farmington Hills and Walled Lake, Mich.
