The practice of authentic Shiatsu was handed down to Yasuo Mori by his mother in Nagasaki, Japan. Over the years he has developed his own unique style of treatment by incorporating his understanding of Japanese folk medicine, macrobiotics, exercise and massage. Mr. Mori is fully licensed by the Washington Board of Massage and the Washington State Department of Health. He has been a member of the American Massage Therapist Association since 1983, and has taught Shiatsu extensively at numerous colleges, massage schools and private workshops across the Northwest. Supported by United Way of King County About Boyer Childrens Clinic Boyer Childrens Clinic is a non-profit therapy and early childhood educational facility under the medical direction of a developmental pediatrician, serving children from birth to teen years who have neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy or delay in development. Our goal is to help each child reach their maximum potential. A multi-disciplinary team including a developmental pediatrician, nurse, speech pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, educators, family resource coordinators and social worker provide services. The team works closely with the family to conduct initial diagnostic assessments and plan and implement individual programs. Boyer also provides select services to children without developmental delay. Children developing in a normal range are served in classroom groups, play groups and baby gym so that children with and without delays can learn together. Who is Served at Boyer Childrens Clinic Boyer Childrens Clinic serves children from birth to teen years, with the majority being age four and younger. Children are referred because of concern about their development or because they have cerebral palsy or other neuromuscular delays. Children live primarily in the Seattle area, but also come from wider geographic areas under special circumstances. The children served at Boyer Childrens Clinic represent a wide diversity in culture and race. Families are representative of the diversity present in the Puget Sound region. A family member or professional person can refer a child to Boyer Childrens Clinic for an evaluation or services when there are concerns about movement, play, language, or feeding skills. Michael D. Steiner M. D., is the sole owner of Island Vision and Cosmetic Surgery (www.islandvision.us) providing comprehensive eye care and cosmetic facial surgery to people of all ages. He has practiced in the Seattle, Washington area since 1986. After graduating with honors from Cornell University in 1977, he attended Cornell University Medical College where he received his Doctor of Medicine 1981. A love for reconstructive surgery led Dr. Steiner to pursue a residency in Ophthalmology, followed by post-graduate training in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery. Since arriving in Seattle, Dr. Steiner has been enjoying the challenges of comprehensive ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. He has published several articles in professional journals on external disease of the eye and innovative approaches to problems in plastic surgery, and is the author of "Care and Feeding of the Plastic Surgery Patient", the only instructional book of its kind for cosmetic surgeons who perform surgery within their own offices. Dr. Steiner has interrupted his practice from time to time to make excursions to distant places; performing cataract surgery in Brazil, providing urgent medical care for displaced Cambodians in Southern Thailand, and reaching into his doctors bag in places like India, Nepal, and China. His interests are diverse but unwavering in their focus on community. He has made a firm personal commitment to care for the inner city indigent population of Seattle, and devotes time to the Seattle arts community. Having brought from his birthplace of New York City a love for opera and ballet, his name can be found engraved among those of the principal donors to the Marion McCaw Opera House. He also brought with him an intensity and passion for the outdoors which has been indulged by climbing many of the beautiful summits surrounding Seattle, bicycle racing, hiking, and skiing. As a lifelong student, the challenges of music and oil painting have been unending, but with a camera in hand Dr. Steiner recently participant in Bridges to Understanding, a photographic mission to the Tibetan Childrens Village in Dharamsala, India. Dr. Steiner was one of the founders of the website Community of Doctors. The website helps serves as the catalyst for medical professionals to play a more active role not only in the future of their own professions but in the national health care dialog as a whole. Dr. Michael Steiner is a member in good standing of the following professional organizations: International Society of Refractive Keratoplasty Lens Association of Ophthalmology Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology
