Chapter 3566 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles is the Brandon chapter that stands in Valrico. The organization is open to adults, who do not have to be military affiliated. The organization is involved in community-service efforts, including a monthly pasta dinner for disabled veterans, a Christmas party for children in need and occasional food drives. The not-for-profit organization raises money for those in need and for the homeless. As one member put it: "Whatever is asked of us we try to do."
Sarasota Garden Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the Sarasota region. With more than 200 members, the organization maintains the vast gardens around its clubhouse and offers educational programs to the community on topics ranging from landscaping to basic lessons in ecology. Most meetings are held from September through May, with a yearly welcome-back potluck scheduled in October.
River Strand Golf and Country Club is both a luxury residential community and a center for those to relax with a round of golf or brisk game of tennis. The country club is also available for group gatherings whether it's a business outing, weddings or other special occasions. Lunch and dinner is served at the country club restaurant and a tennis and golf pro shop are located on premises. A round of golf starts at $49 with tee times beginning at 7am. Weekly golf clinics are held on Saturdays, with adult courses at 10am for $15 each session and juniors at 11am for $10 per session.
Tampa Women's Club is a community service organization. It supports the community in the arts, ecological conservation, scholarships, crime prevention awareness and much more. New members must be at least 18 years of age and obtain sponsorship from an existing member.
The club's beautiful facilities are available for event rental including business meetings and wedding receptions.
The Tampa Federation of Garden Clubs is an organization comprised of 11 garden "circles" from neighborhoods across the city. More than 400 members participate in garden club activities with the mission of beautifying the neighborhoods in which the members live. The Federation's building stands on prime South Tampa real estate, fronting on Bayshore Boulevard and extending one full block in depth.
The Federation sponsors flower shows, garden tours, floral design classes and beautification projects throughout the city. The "Earthly Paradise Garden Tour" in the spring is one of the most popular events and helps raise funds to maintain the Fred Ball Park that is adjacent to the Federation location.
The Brandon Elks Lodge supports the community. It provides school supplies for children, food donations and awards scholarships. It holds fundraising events and gives the proceeds to veterans.
It also has a ladies' organization that supports many charities in the area. It gives scholarships yearly, sends children to the Florida Elks Camp and provides food gift certificates to families at the holidays.
