Since 1921, this organization has provided camaraderie and recreational opportunities to hunters and fishermen. Current membership includes some 75 enthusiasts. The organization's building adjoins a small pond held by the town Conservation Commission, which is open to the public for fishing and bird watching. The club contains a small pistol range in its basement. The group is active in conservation efforts throughout the town.
The Norwood Council of the Massachusetts Knights of Columbus is the third largest jurisdiction of the order. The group practices principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. There are 262 councils in the state with 44,000 members who conduct numerous service programs that directly benefit the community.
The VFW Post in Norwood has an events hall with a built-in bar that plays host to both VFW events and outside parties. The post also has services for veterans and their families as well as weekly events. The VFW of the United States currently has 1.6 million members in the U.S. and is the largest American organization of combat veterans.
