From a single store snuggled in Pike Place Market in Seattle to stores nationwide, Starbucks Coffee has been in business for more than four decades and counting. The coffee maker's brand name was inspired by Herman Mellville's "Moby Dick" for its evocation of the romance of the high seas and the early coffee traders' seafaring tradition.
