On the corner of Prospect Street is an assemblage of sorority and fraternity houses. Alpha Delta Phi, hidden behind an imposing fence, was founded as a literary society in 1832 at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. Alpha Delta Phi has retained its literary focus and attracts students from prestigious colleges. As one of America's longest-running fraternities, Alpha Delta Phi has several chapter houses that have been designated as architectural and historical landmarks.
