The Hacienda School in Pleasanton is a private, non-sectarian institution which serves children ages 6 to 14 in year-round, full-day instruction. It's located on Stoneridge Drive, a few minutes east of Santa Rita Road.
The school is part of the Palo Alto-based Early Learning Institute, which also operates child development centers for children in pre-school through kindergarten. Based on the Montessori approach, the curriculum incorporates activities that promote development and includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign languages, physical education, art, technology, critical thinking and practical life skills classes. Its defining philosophy is to help students direct and manage their own learning through individualized experiences. The campus can accommodate 96 students, with 24 students per classroom and one teacher for every 12 students.
A Chinese language and cultural immersion program, the Two Worlds Approach, is provided during after-school hours. This program is also available to outside students not enrolled at the school.

Affiliated with Pleasanton's Harvest Valley Christian Church, Adventures in Learning offers both a preschool program and extended child-care that are available year round. It is a non-denominational Christian preschool that welcomes children of all races, creeds and religions. Children at the preschool engage in age-appropriate activities such as developmental reading, math, language arts, and indoor and outdoor play. Northern California Bible College was founded in 1971 to provide biblical education to undergraduate students. The college moved to Pleasanton in 1987 from San Jose, where it still maintains a satellite campus. The offices are located in the business center at the corner of Stoneridge Dr. and Santa Rita Rd. It began offering online and mail-correspondence courses in 1999, and is now aimed primarily at distance learners. Students can earn an Associate of Arts (AA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biblical studies. A one-year Certificate Program is also available. Students in the "Reason to Believe" Christian ministry can receive college credit for that program through this college.
Led by Senior Pastor Bill Bryson, the Lighthouse Baptist Church offers two Sunday worship services, one in the morning and the other in the evening. With the intention of supporting families and individuals of all ages, the church provides a number of services and ministries, including child care for infants and toddlers, children's Sunday school classes, youth groups for teens, several adult small groups and Bible study courses, counseling and support services, and one-on-one discipleship. Affiliated with Pleasanton's Valley Bible Church, Love and Care Christian Preschool is located in the church's compound on Johnson Drive. The three-classroom center offers both pre-school programs and extended child-care program that are available year round. Being a Christian preschool, Love and Care aims to create "a Christ-centered educational environment where each child can learn and grow emotionally, physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually."
Chabot Las Positas Community College District is responsible for the operation and development of Chabot College in Hayward and Las Positas College in Livermore. Together, the two community colleges serve approximately 24,000 students and employ more than 2,000 faculty, staff and administrators.
The district is governed by a seven-member board and aims to provide policy, advocacy, service and resources for it's colleges.
