Boston College is a nationally renowned school with more than 80 departments offering degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level. Its main campus, which sprawls over approximately 175 acres in Chestnut Hill, is home to the majority of the college's academic buildings, residence halls and sports facilties. Its adjunct Newton campus, a mile westward, houses additional department offices, student housing and the law school.
Church of the Redeemer is an Episcopal church in Chestnut Hill. In additional to its weekly service, this church runs a number of programs for its young and adult parishioners. Children may attend Sunday school or participate in children's liturgies. There is also a chidren's choir. Church of the Redeemer encourages community involvement and interaction, hosting a number of events throughout the year to bring parishioners together. The church hosts spring and Christmas festivals. In conjunction with the American-Japanese Cultural Concert, this church also sponsors a classical music concert series. Facilities are available for various events.
