Christ the King Catholic School is located in the heart of University City, at the corner of Balson and Purdue avenues. It's a Catholic school, however, it accepts children of all faiths. The school is coeducational and goes from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Its mission is to provide students with a high-quality education based in Christian values.
Mary Institute & Country Day School (MICDS) was founded in 1859 as a nonprofit, independent preparatory school offering education to students from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.
MICDS consists of three programs based on age with the pre-K through fourth grade age group represented by the Ronald S. Beasley Lower School, grades five to eight represented by a single-gender Middle School and grades nine to 12 represented by the Upper School.
The Head of MICDS is Lisa Lyle, formerly of the Blake School in Minnesota. There are 1,202 students enrolled at MICDS.
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church in Oakville was founded in 1962 with about 125 families attending the parish. It has grown to see more than 1,200 families worshiping and participating in church programs. St. Margaret Marry Alacoque Church operates a pre-school and K-8 educational programs. There are also adult education programs and an outreach organization working to provide food, household items and clothing to needy families in the community.
The Kabbalah Centre offers worship and religious studies for its members and welcomes newcomers to join the community here. The center features the Kabbalah Bookstore which sells books here that are specialized in Kabbalah spirituality and teachings. This center also offers courses, lectures and social events for people interested in studying or practicing Kabbalah. A class schedule can be online using the website. Casa Dia Montessori is a daycare center providing children with individualized eating, sleeping and interactive schedules. Different age groups have exercises featuring grasping games, toys and puzzles. For a limited time only, the daycare is also offering free enrollment- a savings of $75.
For two-year-olds, the center features Montessori exercises with sensorial math and language. Toilet training is also taught. The facility has the capacity for 192 children and openings are available for children six weeks to 10 years. The daycare also has a pick-up and drop-off system that's coordinated with Oakville School.
Peace Daycare is a Christian childcare service established as part of the Peace Lutheran Church. With advance registration, parents can drop off and pick up their children within regular hours Monday through Friday. Children between three and five years of age can also participate in the preschool program while there for daycare from September to May. While developing in intellectual, social and other areas, children enjoy two meals and a snack each day while at this Lutheran church daycare.
