The Gilchrist Center offers classes and other educational opportunities to all community members, with a focus on the needs of immigrants and their families. In 2010, the organization moved to its new offices at the Mid-County Regional Service Center.
The Gilchrist Center offers English classes at various levels, computer classes and various life skills classes. On weeknights and weekends, the center moves its classes to the Wheaton Public Library's 1st floor, located at 11701 Georgia Ave. The Center has over seventy active volunteers.
Long Branch Community Center is a Silver Spring-based facility featuring a gym with athletic equipment, weights and sports courts. Visitors can also find a computer lounge, meeting rooms and an outdoor area with grills and picnic tables. Memberships are available in three and six-month durations.
From indoor and outdoor basketball and fitness center with treadmills, elliptical machines and weights, to a game room, computer lab and social hall, the Gwendolyn E. Coffield Community Center is an impressively all-encompassing social, athletic and recreational facility open to Montgomery County resident.
Located just one block from the intersection of Lyttonsville and Grubb Roads, the center also offers a wide range of craft, dance and athletic classes as well "Club Rec," an after-school program for children K-5 during the school year.
