The Harding Community Center is run by the city's Parks and Recreation department. This center has been a community cornerstone for decades. It is available for private events, and many people hold family celebrations here. The Community Center also serves as a facility for church events, children's camps and dance classes. Its facilities include a kitchen, banquet room and theater. The free public parking lot is located across the street from the entrance.
Construction began on the Bressi Ranch Clubhouse in 2008, and currently, the exterior and Phase 1 (the gym, teen center, and restrooms) of the interior has been completed. It is estimated Phase 2 will require an additional $1.2-1.5 million to complete. Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has raised and spent over $4.5 million to date on construction costs.
When completed, the new Clubhouse will consist of 18,000 square feet of programming space, and serve 300+ children on a daily basis.
Carlsbad Community Cultural Arts Center is located next to Carlsbad High School. It showcases events such as theater, music, concerts, movies, dance shows, workshops, seminars and more. This location offers information and guidance to everything Carlsbad, from activities to dining and transportation. This is the perfect place to go if you are visiting the area and need ideas of fun things to do or even if you are a resident looking for something new and interesting.
Carlsbad Village Yoga and Fitness Community Center offers fitness classes, art displays and community events to customers of all ages in the Carlsbad area. Classes offered include bootcamp, ballet barre, yoga for children, mommy & me yoga, west african drum classes, yoga pilates, yoga flow and yoga sculpt. Carlsbad Village Yoga and Fitness also operates a hydroponic organic vegetable garden on its premises, offering Veggie Protein Shakes to customers on Monday through Saturday at 1pm; all additional ingredients are obtained locally from places such as the Carlsbad Farmers Market. Carlsbad Village Yoga and Fitness also holds a rotating series of events on the first, second, third, fourth and fifth Fridays of each month, including black light yoga, free yoga, wine tasting and massage detox.
There is so much going on at the City of Carlsbad Senior Center. Programs are geared to people ages 50 and up. Activities are wide ranging at the center. One can partake in computer classes, dance and art classes or play Wii Nintendo. There is a fitness room, billiards rooms and game room at the center as well as a kitchen and dining room where 150 seniors are fed daily. The Senior Center also offers home meal deliveries and transportation to seniors who need it.
The Monroe Street Pool includes a 25-yard by 25-meter pool, two 1-meter diving boards, a 3-meter diving board, a shallow play area and access ramp, six sets of bleachers and plenty of deck space. The facility includes shower areas, locker facilities and rest rooms.
The pool is a public pool, but there are fees for use. It's $2 for teens/youth, $3 for Carlsbad residents and $4 for non-residents.
