Ossining Children's Center (OCC) operates a satellite location for children in grades one to seven for before and after school care. Bus transportation is provided by Ossining schools. OCC is open on all school holidays and vacations and provides a full summer day camp in the summer with swimming, tennis and field trips. Youngsters in grades three to six participate in the film animation workshop run by the Jacob Burns Film Center. Tuition assistance is available for income-qualified families.
The historic Ossining Children's Center (OCC) has been a community nonprofit since 1895 (at its current location since 1955). OCC is governed by a volunteer board of directors. Executive Director Howard Milbert leads a staff of certified teachers and highly trained assistants. Enrichment programs include music, gardening, art and nature study. It has a collaborative pre-K partnership with the school district. There is a large playground and vegetable garden in the back of the property. OCC offers a generous tuition-assistance program.
