The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department Park West Recreation Complex features a variety of facilities for the entire family to enjoy. This includes a pool, baseball, softball, soccer and football fields, tennis and volleyball courts, batting tunnels, an activity building, an outdoor track, walking trails and a pavilion.
Located in the historic section of Mount Pleasant is an old ferry terminal building that is now known as Alhambra Hall. You can get a spectacular view of Charleston Harbor from the porch of this building.
The grassy area outside is also a popular spot for outdoor activities, with some short walking paths near the marsh. Across the street, you will find a large playground and a restroom building.
Both the park and the grassy area behind the hall are popular for outdoor parties, including weddings and reunions.
Geared towards those 50 and older, the Senior Services Center offers a variety of recreational, cultural and creative arts programs, in addition to providing health, wellness, educational and social activities.
Space at the facility includes a weight room, aerobics room, cafe, prep kitchen, screened porch, card room, educational room, arts and crafts room, and therapeutic healing garden.
