The Woodlands Foundation is a camp complex designed for a variety of programs for people with disability or chronic illness of all ages. The complex for several buildings and activity areas. The Artesia D.E.S. is a historic community center that focuses on promoting Portuguese pride and heritage. Its main community projects include the Artesia D.E.S. Band and the Artesia D.E.S. Soccer Club.

American Legion Post 180 is a veterans association that works closely with the community.
