Established in 1969, the Chicano Federation of San Diego County is a nonprofit, community-based organization that offers a range of family, child care, housing, community development and advocacy services. Able-Disabled Advocacy is a nonprofit organization providing occupational skills training and job placement assistance to more than 7,000 people with various disabilities throughout San Diego County. Founded in 1975, A-DA works with employers, schools and the public sector to help people with disabilities achieve independence and become self-supporting. The agency s programs are funded by the United States Department of Education, San Diego Workforce Partnership, private foundations, and in-kind contributions from community partners and businesses. A-DA serves both youth ages 18 to 21 and adults who want to work and is located in San Diego.
