The ALS Association is a Milford based non-profit that tries to raise awareness of degenerative disease. It supports and funds efforts to define new and more effective treatments.

This religious congregation was founded by African Americans who for years traveled by horseback and buggy to New Haven to attend prayer services before founding their own place of worship in Milford. They gathered on the second floor of a Daniel St building before building the church.
Milford Fine Arts Council is a nonprofit organization that provides Milford and surrounding communities with opportunities to hone their artistic abilities and to gain exposure. The Milford Fine Arts Council offers memberships, which provide members with workshops, weekly events, committees and exhibits. The Milford Fine Arts Council has been around since 1971 and is located directly next to the Milford Railroad.
The Connecticut Audubon Society is a conservation organization that provides environmental education and outdoor activities here at its Coastal Center. This is a picturesque and peaceful place where visitors can climb up the spiral stairs of an observation deck to view birds soaring in the sky or having lunch in a bird feeder. Visitors can walk along a boardwalk toward the water to take photographs of birds, butterflies and plant life. Birthday parties can also be held at the center. No pets, fires, picnics, alcohol, collecting or swimming allowed. Walking on the sand dunes is also prohibited.
Saint Ann Church is a Roman Catholic house of worship where the 1,100 parishioners do more than attend Mass together. The parish offers a program called Saint Ann Learns Together, known as SALT, where topics such as "Acting for Social Justice" are discussed. There's also a fall book club, where books like Mother Teresa's "Come Be My Light" are the topic of conversation.

Kingdom Life Christian Cathedral, a non-denominational Christian church, features a 2,000-seat sanctuary in its cathedral. The grounds include baptismal pools, gazebos and gardens for outdoor weddings. This huge, technologically savvy congregation supports podcasting, an online prayer ministry along with TV and radio broadcasts. Concerts and conferences are also held at this facility. There's also a ministry center that includes a youth center, a book and gift shop, a gym, a school of performing arts, a graphics studio and media production suites.
