Owned, operated and designed by Sarasota artist and author Joan Marie Conclon ("Snuffy the Beautiful Dragon"), the Sarasota Children's Garden is a sanctuary for imagination and play that encourages kids to spend time in nature. The two-acre complex features a maze, an explorable pirate ship overlooking a koi pond, a climbable tree fort and a charming fairy garden that's perfect for tea parties.
Conclon has created a welcoming environment that is "not a drop-off zone," she says. Although there is a drop-off program available for two hours per day during school, parents are encouraged to stay and play in "the land of Odd." The garden is available for birthday parties and special events, and guests are encouraged to bring their own food and snacks.
