Skokie Public Library offers reading material for individuals of all ages and families. The library offers diverse programs, such as book discussions, educational and entertaining lectures, feature films and film discussions and performing arts, including music, dance and theater in a more than 200-seat auditorium. The library s cable network offers programs, movies, educational fare and listings of events. Computers resources for adults and teens are available throughout the library and wireless Internet access is available on the second floor. The facility offers adults various services ranging from serious research to contemporary bestsellers. The Skokie Accessible Library Services offer adaptive equipment, such as electronic magnifiers, closed caption decoders and a public telecommunication device for the hearing impried. Additionally, it offers materials in special formats for people with visual, mobility and hearing impairments and children with special needs. The library is located in Skokie, Ill.

The Jews for Jesus website states, "We exist to make the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to our Jewish people worldwide."  Not without it's sense of humor, the organization jokes that it was founded in 32 A.D.  Moishe Rosen officially founded Jews for Jesus in September of 1973 when thousands of cause-oriented young people, many of whom were Jewish, began to feel an affinity for the traditional savior of Christianity, Jesus Christ.

Revered as the oldest Orthodox synagogue in the Midwest, Congregation Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Kesser Maariv Anshe Luknik offers daily services as well as adult education programs. The congregation, founded in 1867, moved all over Chicago before settling in its current spot. The synagogue has seen its share of history, including some vandalism and persecution, but the congregation is strong and has always bounced back.

Since 1994 the synagogue has been affiliated with the Institute of Contemporary Jewish Life, and preaches the Torah as a way of life rather than an academic interest.

Kehilat Chovevei Tzion is a place of worship in eastern Skokie. It's a Jewish Orthodoz temple based in an otherwise unused former small commercial office space. Kehilat Chovevei Tzion is working on a building fund for their own temple, and they're about halfway to their goal. The mission at Kehilat Chovevei Tzion is to provide a place for Orthdox Jews to worship and to foster a sense of community in Skokie. There are adult study programs, youth programs, and more. The website has information on Orthodox events, such as shabbot and the eruv.

Emily Oaks Nature Center features a 13-acre nature park originally named Emily Park. The park includes two trails that extend into a wooded area to the north and east of the actual center. The center itself hosts an information desk and contains rooms where children's educational classes are held. The center also holds an annual plant sale in the spring and has a multitude of other events throughout the year (events are  listed on the website).

Close to the nature preserve is a children's play area that includes a jungle gym, and swings and slides.  The play area is directly opposite the parking lot that extends south of the center.

Channelside Park is one of Evanston's westernmost parks.  Located just along the North Shore channel, the park serves primarily as a launch area for kayaking and canoeing. The area around the launching docks is sculpted and beautiful. The parks service allows boaters to park and leave their cars on site while they enjoy the river. There are also two soccer fields in the park.
