Kol Shalom is a large congregation that has been around for eight years. The congregation will be moving to a new home on Darnestown Road in the fall of 2011, but for now it has Friday night services at 10301 Grosvenor Place and Saturday morning services at the Jewish Community Center on Montrose Road. Kol Shalom also has a schooling program for children grades 6 and above.

The third office is on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. A fourth office is in Fairfax, Virginia on Javier Road. The JSSA is a partner agency of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. It is also accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program.

The Montrose School offers a Bible-based liberal arts education to serve as a ministry providing a Christian education for the community.

Along with educational services, the school offers extended care before and after the traditional school day. 

The school started in 1968 as a part-time nursery school that grew into a daycare within three years. And by 1977 the Montrose Christian School was incorporated with grades one through four. By 1985, it was offering kindergarten to 12th grade education.
