Pride for Youth is a project through the Long Island Crisis Center that offers activities, counseling and weekly coffeehouse sessions for Nassau County's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. It also publishes a youth-made zine called Queer Beans.
Bellmore American Legion Post No. 948 is located on Royle Street off Route 27. The American Legion is a non-profit and is the nation's largest veteran's service organization. It works to help the community by mentoring students and through its sponsorship of youth programs in the community, including sports leagues, foundations and educational programs.
The Lupus Alliance of America has a national reach and helps hundreds of people every year. This is the Long Island and Queens chapter, which hosts walks and other campaigns to help raise money and awareness of lupus around the New York area.
The Cancer Survivors Center is a civic organization providing information and support to families and patients confronting cancer in their lives or the life of a loved one.
