Founded in 1973, Camp Friendship began when neighbors decided to raise funds for kids in need to attend summer camp. Since then, after school and recreational programs including basketball and baseball are supported by a staff of trained parents and youth volunteers. Arts and crafts, martial arts and dance/movement and fitness program featuring ballet, tap, modern dance, creative dance and gymnastics is also available for children ages 5 through 14 years old. The not-for-profit organization is open year-round and provides after school programs during the school year.

Located just a few blocks south of Prospect Park, Holy Name Church is a Catholic church dating back to the 19th century. The church recently welcomed a new pastor, Reverend James K. Cunningham to its parish staff. The church grounds additionally host a Catholic school, the Holy Name of Jesus School. Mass is held Monday through Friday at 7am and 9am, Saturday at 9am and 5:30pm, and Sundays at 7:30am, 9am, 10:30am and noon. The 9am Sunday service is in Spanish.

According to its official mission statement, the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Association exists, "[t]o support Brooklyn Technical High School as the premier specialized high school for science, technology, engineering and mathematics by harnessing the intellectual and financial power of Tech alumni." To that end, the organization has raised more than $15 million in donations since its inception. An endowment initiated in 1998 will ensure the school will continue to have financial backing for years to come.
