The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, also known as GLSEN, is one of the leading provides of sexual orientation programs in the United States. Established in 1990, the organization focuses on issues concerning gender identity and expression. It assists schools in prohibiting bullying, harassment and biased behavior with gays, lesbians and transgender individuals. The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network s student organizing department provides support and technical assistance for more than 4,000 registered student clubs.
