Established in 1979 as a Chinese Language School, the Chinese Community Center, located in Houston, serves more than 4,000 families each year through educational, cultural, and social service programs. The center is a nonprofit, social service organization, and receives funding and support from individuals, public and private sector sources and the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast. The center is one of the largest Asian-led social service agencies in Texas. Chinese Community Center offers various services, such as child development programs, youth through after school tutorials, summer camps, and a Chinese language school. It serves adults through various education programs that include English as a second language, job training and computer classes, and senior adults through community service, adult day, and employment programs. The center also organizes financial and family literacy workshops and seminars.
