Dome Technology has been in the dome construction business for more that 25 years. In 1976, the company began an innovative process for constructing storage buildings by inflating an airform to build a concrete structure from the outside using a construction procedure unheard of at that time. The companys goal is to design and build the highest quality domes, using the most economical construction methods. Dome Technology holds a patent to build large domes spanning more than 575 feet in diameter. Dome Technology has built more than 350 domes in 18 foreign countries and 40 states in the United States. For the past several years, Dome Technology has been building 40 to 50 domes each year. The bulk storage industry is the primary market for domes. Bulk products commonly stored in domes are: fertilizers, cement, clinker, gypsum, fly ash, alumina, grains and mining ores. Because of the domes inherent strength domes are ideal in locations that are subject to earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes.
