We started from a long standing history in building and remodeling & was founded by owners Mike Chapman and Jim Reddecliff in 1994. Raised in rural Ohio, Mike Chapman, brought his home building skills from both community and family projects to his new home in Chester County, in the 1980s. He teamed up with his father-in-law, Jim Reddecliff, in the early 90s to form Air Tight Home Improvements, Inc. Operating at first out of a small office, Mike and Jim successfully grew Air Tight into a residential remodeling company known throughout the Greater Delaware Valley area. Growth over the years was won through excellent service and reliance on positive word of mouth from their customers. So much so, that Mike and Jim needed to bring on additional help managing the developing business, so Mark Chapman joined the ranks. Marks previous background in accounting and operations management was a perfect fit for the growing enterprise. In 1994, opportunity knocked when they, as building material customers themselves, were consistently faced with lackluster service while making purchases. The decision was made to open a new business to better service the residential building materials market for the general retail buying public. Jim, Mike and Mark all felt that there was a good opportunity to extend beyond their hands on residential building and design business to fulfill a need for homeowners seeking qualified, educated and experienced building material distribution professionals.
