Milpitas Care Center is a skilled nursing facility that offers in-house rehabilitation, both short-term and long-term. Most of the seniors come directly from a hospital. The building feels like a home and less like a medical facility. The nursing home has the capacity for 35 seniors. Current residents range in age from mid-50s to 99 years in age. The male-to-female ratio is 1:6. A large calendar in the hallway shows daily scheduled activities for residents. Once a month, there is a field trip, usually to the nearby mall. Although there is no chapel, church personnel visit the nursing home regularly.
Courtyard Healthcare Center is a nursing facility with 112 beds. It is widely held to be the least expensive facility of its kind in Davis. The facility is large, with a waiting area found immediatlely upon entering the facility. The cafeteria (eating commons) is found directly behind that, with a nice outdoor patio available. There is a good ratio of staff to guests during the awake hours.
