The Los Angeles California Temple Visitors' Center provides information and tours to visitors of the Los Angeles temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located behind the temple that overlooks Santa Monica Boulevard, the center was renovated and reopened in August of 2010. The center has multimedia presentations and special exhibits relating to the temple, along with information on family histories. A special children's area inside the center has activities and presentations for kids. Upon arriving at the center, visitors will first notice the Christus statue, a replica of the original sculpture by Bertel Thorvaldsen. Free guided tours of the center are available. The temple itself was completed in 1955 and dedicated the following year.
