Marion County Jail II is a more than 1,000-bed correctional facility for delinquent and offender males. It houses inmates held by the Marion County Sheriff s Department. Marion County Jail II offers training for the development of anger management and life skills. It provides vocational classes, basic reading and writing instruction for adult facility inmates. The facility also offers assistance with community reintegration, as well as a variety of substance abuse prevention, behavior management and addiction recovery programs. Located in Indianapolis, Marion County Jail II is a part of the Corrections Corporation of America, an independent company that designs, finances, builds, owns and manages prisons, jails and detention facilities. The Corrections Corporation of America has been operational since 1983 and manages more than 75,000 male and female detainees and offenders.
