The Darke County Sheriffs Office is a law enforcement agency that preserves peace and order and detects and prevents crime. It operates a 36-bed, county-owned jail that provides secure and humane confinement to convicted and pretrial prisoners. The office has a Special Response Team (SRT) that responds to hostage situations, barricaded persons, raids and other situations that require a specialized team. The Darke County Sheriffs Office also maintains mounted patrol and K-9 teams.
