The Department of Housing and Community Development, also known as HCD, is a part of Fairfax County, Va. The department offers a range of housing and community revitalization programs. It provides community development and neighborhood preservation services, as well as employment and economic opportunities to citizens. The department reports to county executive and board of supervisors. The Department of Housing and Community Development administers community development block and home investment partnership grants. It also serves as the staff for the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
