The Bingham County Road & Bridge Department formulates and enforces various road and bridge laws and ordinances, including road signs and speed limits. It has contracted with J-U-B Engineering to develop a Master Transportation Plan (MTP), which was designed for the conversion of existing digital county maps into a geographic information system (GIS) format. Located in Blackfoot, Idaho, the road and bridge department coordinates with the Bingham County Solid Waste Department for various household wastes to be hauled to a private landfill that meets all federal and state standards. The Bingham County Road & Bridge Department supports the Idaho Traffic Alerts service that provides information from the Idaho Transportation Department s traveler information system, including official road closures, commercial vehicle restrictions, crashes, roadwork, sporting and special events, and weather and winter road conditions.
