Headquartered in Houma, La., Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office employs more than 300 staff members. The organization provides law enforcement and crime prevention services. It operates civil, criminal, domestic violence and narcotics divisions. Its criminal division conducts initial investigations and gathers evidence. Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office also operates a jail that houses over 600 prisoners. The organization intervenes in the cases of burglaries, thefts, serious assaults, domestic violence, and juvenile and fraud investigations. Its K-9 department specializes in narcotics detection, crime scene searches and the tracking of suspects.
