Franklin County Sheriffs Office is a law enforcement agency that is responsible for the maintenance of courtroom security at the county s courts, operation of jail, and transportation of prisoners and mental patients. The office serves civil papers in the county. It operates under the government of Franklin County, Va., which also operates finance, library, information technology, parks and recreation, procurement, public works, social services, tourism, and planning and community development departments. The county government s information technology department is responsible for a variety of hardware, software, network and telecommunications services.
