Founded in 1947 Ad Industries was founded in Denver as an advertising specialty distributor. In 1969 Richard Wurzel opened a small satellite sales office. At that time the company became focused on ring binders and related products, as very little production was being done in its Van Nuys facility and it wasn t until 1974 when Ad Industries went into full scale production. In August of 2002, Ad Industries acquired two of its largest West Coast competitors, Western Looseleaf and Rundel Products. This acquisition allowed the company to grow into other markets, such as multi-media packaging, audio, video, CD and DVD products.
