Your purchase of a Bernina product is supported with free guide classes by our Staff and service by our Bernina Certified Technicians. We offer a large selection of Fabrics, Notions and Sewing Supplies for Clothing, Embroidery, Heirloom, Quilting and Smocking. There are sewing classes for all skill levels from beginner to the more experienced, including specialty classes and kids camps in the summer. New Bern Fabric Center was established in 1974 and purchased by Carole and James Hall in 1987. The store is located in historical New Bern, North Carolina which was founded in 1710 by Christopher de Graffenried of Berne, Switzerland. New Bern is the 2nd oldest city and the Colonial Capital of North Carolina. Our experienced sales staff, teachers and service technicians come from a diverse background in public education, business, social work, government and farming to share their love for sewing. They enjoy helping customers make the right decision when purchasing a new Bernina Sewing and Embroidery Machine, Serger, Software or when selecting the best fabric, lace, trims and threads for your sewing projects. Carole, Kari, Jane, Debbie, Mary Ann, Karen and Ruth have taught hundreds the basic art of sewing, smocking, quilting, the art of constructing beautiful Heirloom creations and how to use their Bernina Sewing and Embroidery machines and Embroidery Designer Software. Bruce and James are certified Bernina Technicians with over 30 years of experience and can service/repair most home sewing machines.
