The Early Learning Coalition of Alachua County ( ELCAC ) in in Gainesville FL, serves as a resource for families and early childhood educators. ELCAC provides enriching early learning opportunities for children age birth to five ensuring that children will begin school ready to learn. Through collaboration, our Coalition uses an integrated service system linking decision makers, families, early childhood educators and business leaders together to make certain that all of the young children living in our community receive the care and enriching learning opportunities they need to succeed in school and later in life. Shands Cancer Center at the University of Florida is an interdisciplinary initiative connecting clinicians and scientists who perform original scientific research and enhance clinical strategies for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer. Membership includes over 300 active members from several areas within the University of Florida and Shands HealthCare systems. Cancer center members are involved in several areas of bench to bedside research, from analyzing basic cell growth and biology to developing new treatment therapies in an effort to better understand how to detect, treat and cure cancer. Multidisciplinary teams provide treatment options based on traditional methods and research alternatives for several areas, such as bone marrow transplantation, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, orthopedics, hematology and oncology, which includes neuro-, pediatric, radiation and surgical oncology.

North Florida Surgical Pavilion is an ambulatory surgery center licensed by the State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, and affiliated with the North Florida Regional Medical Center. The center s areas of expertise include anesthesiology, general surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, podiatry and urology.
