Gymboree Play & Music in the Oakhills shopping center offers interactive activities for kids, from newborns to 4-years-old and their parents. Participants sing songs, get active and have a blast. Instructors help kids grow and learn by leading kid-friendly classes in art, music, gym and educational skills. They also specialize in throwing fun, personalized and themed birthday parties that are available to members and non-members.
The Child Day Schools is an education and childcare organization originally founded by Executive Director Anne Whitehead in 1976. The Pleasanton School is one of five Child Day School locations in the East Bay and was first opened in 1997. The Child Day School provides a dynamic childcare program featuring active learning time, small group activities, a consistent daily routine, and music and movement activities.
The Hacienda Child Development Center in Pleasanton is a private, non-sectarian institution that provides enrichment and education for pre-school and kindergarten-aged children. It is one of three "HeadsUp!" child development centers established by the Early Learning Institute (ELI). ELI also operates two schools (including the Hacienda School in Pleasanton) where children ages 6 to 14 can continue the program.
The center is licensed by the State of California and employs teachers trained in the Montessori approach to education. It offers it's "HeadsUp!" philosophy to include art, music and imaginative play as well as the Montessori curriculum of practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, science and cultural activities. Emphasis is also placed on parent involvement and interaction.

Affiliated with Pleasanton's Harvest Valley Christian Church, Adventures in Learning offers both a preschool program and extended child-care that are available year round. It is a non-denominational Christian preschool that welcomes children of all races, creeds and religions. Children at the preschool engage in age-appropriate activities such as developmental reading, math, language arts, and indoor and outdoor play. Young Ivy Academy is a before and after-school center in English and Chinese instruction. It is equipped with a computer lab, ten classrooms, a large collection of supplemental books and read-along CD's in English and Chinese, learning tools and it also offers art and computer classes. Teachers and tutors offer help with homework, in addition to daily math enrichment and online practice, daily classes in writing and reading in English, Chinese, and Spanish. It also runs summer programs.
Young Ivy Academy offers pick-up service from local elementary and middle schools for a small fee.
