The Springs General Store has been serving folks in the Springs community since 1844.  It has always been a general store but back then it was also the post office and the only place to get news during the civil war.

Kristi Hood, a very experienced and gifted Chef and Pastry Chef, is the current owner and head chef.  All the food here is homemade from scratch and will thoroughly satisfy whatever hunger from breakfast through dessert.

Outdoor seating is available at one of the multiple picnic tables in the yard or on the porch in a traditional rocker.  Springs can save you a trip to town and provide you with most anything from basic household supplies to a custom made scrumptious cake baked by Kristi herself, who caters as well.

In the summer months a snug little farmstand adjacent to the store is chock full of fresh, local produce.  Kayak rentals are also available from Spring through the fall if you prefer the scenery of Accabonac Harbor from the water.

At Hampton Bagels, all bagels, bialies and other prepared foods are homemade on the premises each day. An old fashioned recipe –learned from the owner's friend, a Jewish Russian immigrant– is used to make the store's bialies, while the "boiling before baking" method is used to prepare the Real NY bagels. Hampton Bagels delivers to delis from Montauk all the way to Moriches, and will even create custom cream cheese flavors.

Twenty-seven years ago, Joe Kaelin, a longtime visitor to the park and owner of other concession stands, got Suffolk County's permission to build a general store at Cedar Point County Park. During the summer, Mr. Kaelin brings his camper down and lives at the campground. His store serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the grill. An addition in 2000 allowed room for a few tables for people to sit and eat their egg sandwiches and burgers. A few video games were also added.

The general store also sells camping supplies like propane, condiments, bug spray, bags of ice, sticks for roasting S'mores, and even metal fire pits. Daily newspapers are delivered each morning. Even Cedar Point's residential neighbors in Northwest Woods visit the store for their morning paper and coffee because it is much closer than the center of East Hampton.

On Saturday nights, the store hosts free family movie nights on the lawn outside the store, near the cliff that overlooks the beach and the Cedar Point Lighthouse. Campers just have to bring blankets and chairs to watch. There is also a volleyball court and basketball court right outside its doors.

Goldberg's Famous Bagels started out in the Bronx in 1928, when Izzy Goldberg, who fled from Poland eight years earlier with just a book of his father's recipes, started a small bagel bakery. Years later, his sons, Artie, Al, Jerry, and Marty, expanded into Brooklyn with Goldberg's Famous, and later Bagel Chateau in Manhattan and New Jersey. In 1998, they came to the Hamptons, starting delis in Southampton, and then in East Hampton and Westhampton Beach. They still use the secret bagel recipe, and also offer whole wheat bagels and flagels (flat bagels) of all varieties, in addition to deli meats, sandwiches and smoked fish.
