Patricia R. Kelly is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who was born and raised in a Northern Ontario mining town in Canada.She earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology with an Honors in Physiology, from the University of Western Ontario in 2000 and her Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from McGill University in 2004. Dr. Kelly then moved to Seattle and completed a General Practice Residency, followed by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 2010, both at the University of Washington.Dr. Kelly joined University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2010 to work with Dr. Thomas H. Hohl, and transitioned to Principal / Owner in 2013. Dr. Kelly continues to provide the same high standard of compassionate care for which Dr. Hohl was well recognized.In her spare time, Dr. Kelly enjoys many activities such as hiking, kayaking and yoga. She also enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.

Dr. Bloomquist, who is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an attending surgeon at the UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Swedish Hospital and Medical Center. He holds dental licenses in Washington and Idaho, and is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Bloomquist earned his DDS from the UW in 1969, and an MS in oral surgery from Georgetown University in 1973. Before attaining emeritus status, he was Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor in the UW Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. He has been a consultant to Group Health Hospital, the Seattle Veterans Administration Hospital, Public Health Service Hospital, and Pacific Medical Center.

He has served as President of the Seattle-King County Dental Society, and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry and a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honorary society.

Over the years, Dr. Bloomquist has continued as an active instructor in residency training for the department. His focus is primarily upon advanced topics related to orthagnathic surgery in working with our residents, both in weekly resident training sessions and in the supervision of O.R. cases at Swedish Hospital and Medical Center, a rotation site for our oral surgery residents.

Dr. John Tidwell was born and raised in Southern California. His early interest in science and teaching led him to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a minor in Teacher Education from the University of California at San Diego. He subsequently became interested in the field of Dentistry and attended the University of California at Los Angeles. While at UCLA, Dr. Tidwell earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.Following dental school, Dr. Tidwell was accepted into the residency training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington. During his residency, Dr. Tidwell received extensive training in medicine, anesthesia, oral surgery, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, oral pathology, facial reconstructive surgery and trauma. As part of the residency training program, Dr. Tidwell traveled to Europe and participated in a nine month fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Arnhem, The Netherlands. This experience provided Dr. Tidwell with the opportunity to diagnose and treat many patients with a multitude of oral and maxillofacial problems.After completion of his residency training, Dr. Tidwell was asked to join the faculty in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington to teach full time in the Residency training program. Dr. Tidwell opened his private practice, Ballard Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, over twenty years ago and has gained extensive experience in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.Dr. Tidwell is board certified with the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is past president of the Washington State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.Dr. Tidwell with his wife and two daughters have lived in the Seattle area since 1988. Dr. Tidwell enjoys golf, skiing, boating and photography in his free time.
