The Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center provides treatment for individuals suffering from allergies, asthma and related diseases. Its physicians are certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and serve more than 9,000 patients. The center has offices in North Carolina including Concord, Gastonia, Monroe, Shelby, Charlotte and Mooresville. It also has an office in Rock Hill, S.C.Its physicians serve as associate and assistant instructors in affiliation with the Carolinas Medical Center and the University of North Carolina Medical School, Chapel Hill, to train future pediatricians in the proper diagnosis and treatment of allergies and asthma. CAAC also serves as a resource for administrative and procedural questions to other board-certified allergy practices nationwide, receiving several on-site visits and telephone conferences each year. It is sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, such as Pfizer, Zyrtec, Zithromax, Allegra, Azmacort, Nasacort, Allerdays and Aventis pharmaceuticals.
