Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro, is one of the pacesetters in the trading card game and tabletop role playing game categories, and among the leading developers and publishers of game-based entertainment products. The company holds an exclusive patent on trading card games and their method of play and produces the trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, among other family and games. Wizards of the Coast is also a publisher of role-playing games, such as Dungeons & Dragons, and publisher of fantasy series fiction with numerous New York Times best-sellers. Founded in 1990, it was acquired by Hasbro in 1999. Wizards of the Coast maintains headquarters in Renton, Wash., and operates a branch location in Grand Prairie, Texas.
