Johnson and author of The Heart, a well known medical reference text. Dr. Juarez-Uribe proceeded to work at Alvarado Hospital, Chula Vista Community Hospital, today known as Sharp Chula Vista, and then at Paradise Valley Hospital, where he served as Chief of Cardiology for ten years. Dr. Juarez-Uribe co-founded the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Sharp Chula Vista and served as chairman of cardiology at Sharp Chula Vista and co-chairman of cardiac surgery together with Dr. Jose Hernandez, thoracic and cardiac surgeon. Dr. Juarez-Uribe then began to focus his efforts on in-patient services at his practice.
