Dr. Matthew G. Clarke is a double fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic traumatology and sports medicine. Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Clarke began his academic career at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in only two years. He was then selected to be one of fifteen students granted entry into Dartmouth College and Brown University?s combined medical program, where he obtained multiple class honors and earned his medical degree in 2004. Dr. Clarke later completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Howard University in Washington, DC, where he was awarded the honor of administrative chief resident in his final year. He then further sub-specialized by completing fellowships in sports medicine at Georgetown University and in orthopedic traumatology at the University of Miami Ryder Trauma Center. At Georgetown University, Dr. Clarke served as a team physician to George Mason University Athletics. In his role as an Orthopedic Traumatologist, Dr. Clarke excels in treating high energy pelvic and acetabular fractures, complex long bone and peri-articular injuries, as well as circular ring external fixation and delayed reconstruction of severe open fractures and mangled extremities. Also, in his role as a Sports Medicine specialist, Dr. Clarke enjoys the surgical and non-surgical treatment of athletes with sports-related injuries, which include arthroscopic treatment of knee-related injuries such as ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair and cartilage restoration procedures, as well as arthroscopic treatment of shoulder-related injuries such as rotator cuff repair and labral repair.
Brad Cohen, MD, FAAOS, FACS, is an orthopedist with a passion for helping you understand why your condition developed and how best to treat it. Dr. Cohen founded Aventura Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in North Miami, Florida as a full-service orthopedic center that makes it possible to achieve optimal musculoskeletal health. Aventura Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine features various in-office, high-tech diagnostic and treatment technologies, including digital X-rays and ultrasounds. The office is paperless, which saves patients time and money, and helps the environment. For example, you can book appointments and fill in the necessary intake forms online, even before your first visit. Dr. Cohen also offers e-prescribing.   Dr. Cohen received his bachelor’s degree in computer science at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1992. He earned his MD at the Cincinnati School of Medicine in 1997. After a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the State University of Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York, Dr. Cohen completed a sports medicine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Although he’s an expert surgeon, Dr. Cohen prefers to find nonsurgical solutions to your orthopedic injuries whenever possible. He specializes in sports medicine, as well as shoulder, knee, and elbow disorders. He also performs arthroscopic surgery as required, administers platelet-rich plasma injections, and treats a wide variety of general orthopedic problems. Dr. Cohen believes that knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their healthcare. He explains every step of the diagnostic process and carefully explains all your treatment options. He is frank about the outcomes that each treatment choice produces and views you as an essential part of your healing process. A member of numerous medical associations, including the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Cohen is active in the local Miami community. As an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Steven Gorin, DO, is passionate about helping his patients of all ages at the Institute of Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics maintain active and healthy lives. To this end, Dr. Gorin offers the latest therapies and surgical techniques to his patients in the North Miami, Florida, community. An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Gorin’s goal is to help his patients recover from shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle injuries and get back to their pre-injury level of activity. Dr. Gorin began his higher education at Sargent College at Boston University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in human physiology in 1994. He went on to earn a master’s degree in sports medicine from the University of Miami in 1996 and his doctor of osteopathic medicine, or DO, from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2000. For his training, Dr. Gorin completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery in 2005 at the Medical Center of Independence in Independence, Missouri. Not stopping there, Dr. Gorin received a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine and stem cell therapies. Dr. Gorin is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and he’s an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopaedics, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Gorin has served as a physician for many athletic teams and clubs and he’s a sports medicine practitioner for USA Soccer Youth. To better serve the North Miami community, Dr. Gorin is bilingual in Spanish.

Dr. Silverman provides excellent, patient-centered care for all patients. He specializes in hip and knee replacements (arthroplasty) and resolving problems associated with hip and knee replacements such as infection and fracture. Most patients are candidates for the minimally-invasive direct anterior approach hip replacement. He also has a special interest in partial knee replacements for young active patients with arthritis. Dr Andrew Hiller specializes in orthopedic sports medicine including knee and shoulder surgery, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, arthroscopic rotator cuff and labral repairs, total & reverse shoulder replacement, minimally invasive anterior hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, cartilage restoration, and comprehensive sports medicine and orthopedic trauma. Dr. Hiller was born in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan. He was a distinguished scholar/athlete at the Detroit Country Day School, graduating with awards and letters in academics, football and lacrosse. Dr. Hiller graduated with honors from Northwestern University and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital where he gained comprehensive surgical experience in complex orthopedic trauma and general orthopedics. Following residency, Dr. Hiller completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Reconstruction at the renowned Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Los Angeles, CA. Throughout his training, Dr. Hiller has maintained a keen interest in sports medicine and has worked along with numerous team physicians including those associated with the University of Miami Hurricanes (NCAA), Miami Marlins (MLB), ASA Miami Junior College, and LA Valley Junior College.
