Dr. Michele Dehnert, an attending physician at Staten Island University Hospital, is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Dehnert evaluates and provides treatment for children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental disabilities and behavioral difficulties including delayed development (speech, motor skills, learning); learning problems; autism spectrum disorder; attention & behavioral disorders (ADHD, oppositional-defiant disorder, conduct problems, depression, anxiety, tics, habit disorders); and regulatory disorders (difficulties with the following: sleep, feeding, discipline, toilet training). She is part of a team of providers that includes a second developmental pediatrician, two nurse practitioners, and a clinical psychologist. The team runs a large psychotropic medication practice, with expertise in optimizing medication management in developmentally disabled children and adolescents. Dr. Dehnert feels that it is a privilege to be a part of childrens lives and to assist them in achieving their full potential.

Ronit Gilad, MD is a board certified neurosurgeon based at Staten Island University Hospital. An assistant professor in neurosurgery, she practices general brain and spine surgery, including minimally invasive brain and spine procedures, treating all neurosurgical conditions. Dr. Gilad was previously a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy where she served as the staff physician in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. While in the service, Dr. Gilad treated active duty members in the service and their families. She participated in their combat traumatic brain injury program and helped treat wounded soldiers upon return from overseas deployment. In addition she took a lead role in the brain tumor program and headed their tumor board in collaboration with oncology and radiation oncology. Subsequent to her service in the Navy, Dr. Gilad was assistant professor in the department of Neurosurgery in the Mount Sinai Health System. In addition to providing general neurosurgical brain and spine care at three of the major facilities of the health system, she also served as Chief of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Brooklyn. There, she helped build a spine program in a community hospital now capable of providing the full compliment of spine treatments and procedures to the local community. Dr. Gilad graduated from Princeton University cum laude with a BA in Molecular Biology and a certificate in Engineering Biology. She earned her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, graduating with honors for research in pharmacology. She then went on to complete her residency in the Department of Neurosurgery at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Gilad is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, is a member of numerous medical organizations and has published in a variety of scholarly journals including the Journal of Neurosurgery, American Journal of Neuroradiology, The spine Journal, and the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dana Kaplan, MD is the Director for Child Abuse and Neglect for the Depm1ment of Pediatrics at Staten Island University Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a Member of the Ray E. Helfer Society. She is also a faculty mentor for the New York State Child Abuse Medical Provider (CHAMP) Network to educate healthcare professionals in the identification and management of child abuse cases. As a Child Abuse Pediatrician, Dr. Kaplan is trained to medically evaluate cases of suspected child physical abuse, child sexual, abuse, neglect and medical child abuse. Dr. Kaplan has lectured both regionally and nationally and is active in research. She has authored several publications and educational materials on the subject of child abuse. Dr. Kaplans specific area of interest is in commercially sexually exploited youth. Dr. Kaplan also is actively involved in the education of trainees. She is the Associate Program Director for the Department of Pediatrics Residency Program as well as the Staten Island University Site Director for the Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center/Infant and Childrens Hospital of Brooklyn.

Dr. Vinisha Singhi, MD, PAAP., is the Director of Neonatal Quality Improvement and Medical Director of the Donor Human Milk Program at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Singhi is a clinical neonatologist that specializes in the care of newborns who require more acute care immediately after birth. Dr. Singhis personal interest within the field of neonatology is growth and nutrition via promotion of an exclusive human milk diet for our most vulnerable patients. As Director of Neonatal Quality Improvement, Dr. Singhi actively works in collaboration with the Northwell Health Neonatal Service Line, to ensure that SIUH NICU continues to evaluate and provide the best evidence based care for our neonates. In addition, Dr. Singhi has a strong relationship with the pediatric residency program, active role in mentoring and teaching.
