About Dr. Didinsky Dr. Didinsky is a fellowship trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of spinal disorders. He is able to treat the complete spectrum of spinal disorders. His expertise is in cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine conditions including trauma, tumors, and scoliosis. He is specially trained in and has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery. He applies minimally invasive spine surgery for conditions such as disc herniations, spinal stenosis, instability, infections, tumors, fractures, and scoliosis. Most of these surgeries can be performed on an outpatient or in a 23 hour observation basis. He accomplishes this through small incisions, placed in strategic locations, that allow a focused view of the problem area and preserves the surrounding healthy spine structures. This approach allows for significantly diminished blood loss, better cosmesis, quicker recovery, and a decreased chance for needing more surgery in the future. His area of interest is applying minimally invasive techniques to surgical conditions that have traditionally not been amendable to minimally invasive surgery. For example, major scoliosis reconstruction, tumor resection surgery, and major spinal trauma injuries can be addressed through small muscle splitting approaches with percutaneous pedicle screw stabilization. This has been referred to as “tube surgery “by the media. Dr. Didinsky has helped develop and evaluate numerous spinal fixation devices that have allowed the advancement of minimally invasive surgery. He helped develop an expandable cage system. He also helped evaluate and design percutaneous pedicle screw and rod passage systems that make minimally invasive scoliosis correction surgery possible. He serves as a consultant to multiple Spine Surgery Corporations. Dr. Didinsky regularly travels across the United States to lecture and teach about minimally invasive spine surgery. He is set up as a VSP (visiting surgeon program) site which allows spine surgeons from across the country to spend time in surgery with Dr. Didinsky learning these very advanced techniques. He feels that it is his duty to pass on his knowledge, passion, and experience in minimally invasive surgery to the future spine surgeons. Dr. Didinsky has served on the AOBOS Board Certification Committee involved in writing questions for the orthopedic certification and recertification exam since 2011. He was awarded a Mentor of the year award in 2010. He was also awarded the Bob Green D.O. Memorial award by the American osteopathic board of orthopedic surgery for excellence in orthopedics in 2005. His philosophy in medicine is to treat this patients like family and that surgery is the last resort. He is particularly flattered and thankful that patients travel from Chicago and as far North as Green Bay to seek out his opinion and surgical care. He has lived in Kenosha since joining comprehensive orthopedics in 2005. He enjoys living in the community in which he practices medicine. He is married with two daughters.
