Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse provides prevention, education, intervention, referral and treatment services, and is located in Santa Barbara, Calif. The center offers various programs and activities, including youth service system, mentor program, parent project and public awareness. The services offered at the center include educational support groups to assist students in dealing with issues, such as stress, relationships, family dynamics, communication skills and problem solving. It also provides health education and alcohol and drug diversion classes. The special classes at the center reach out to youth who are in danger of dropping out of school. The activities and clubs offer drug-free recreational, community service, and fund-raising activities to its students. The center helps students access appropriate support to decrease school failure and address truancy problems before they become habitual.
